I marked the trim lines on the fairing. The fairing was taken off the canopy. I borrowed Jeff's die grinder with his cutoff wheel for trimming the fairing. I clamped the fairing to the Workbench. I found that the cutoff wheel would bog down and sometimes stop if I pushed too hard on the die grinder. After trimming each side, the fairing edge was smoothed on the belt sander. A final sanding of each edge was done using my die grinder with the Scotchbrite pad in it.
The center section over the center rail needs to be opened up a little more in the front area and then built up around the rail. The fairing sits too high right now over the rail, because I moved the fairing back a little bit in order to get the desired edge clearances.
