Brief Description: More Work on the Instrument Shelf
I made a strap to be fitted onto the bottom corner of the instrument shelf. This strap will be riveted to the underside, extending the shelf to reach the bracket on the left rib for attachment. I added a spacer on top of the strap and drilled it in place. The shelf was clamped to the ribs and drilled in place for #8 screws to the rib flanges of the right and center ribs. The holes were then configured for nutplates and the nutplates were riveted in place. I primed the shelf and all of the smaller pieces. Various holes were countersunk for nutplates. I riveted the strap and spacer to the shelf, as well as the bracket to the left rib. Nutplates were riveted in place. The reinforcement bracket was riveted to the aft end of the center rib.
