Brief Description:  Finally! Got Fittings Installed on Oil Lines

After multiple attempts and phone calls to friends about cutting the end of the stainless steel braided line, I found the correct technique. I wrapped the end three times with masking tape and used a new 1 1/2" cut-off wheel in the Dremel. The tube was placed in the vise. The cut-off wheel was run at the highest speed and then cut straight thru one half of the tube. The tube was rotated and cut thru. The fitting was placed over the tube and rotated onto the tube. The masking tape held the cut braids together enough so that the fitting would fit over the end. The tape was pulled off the tubing and the fitting rotated fully onto the tubing. A strip of tape was wrapped around the tube at the end of the fitting. The bayonet end of the fitting was screwed onto the tubing and the fitting. The tape served as a marker to check for any movement when the fitting was tightened with wrenches. The fitting only moved about 1/16".
