The left wing root fairing was trimmed to a final shape matching the fuselage contour. The edge was smoothed out with the Scotchbrite wheel. The fairing was clamped in place and the rubber seal was placed on the edge of the fairing to see how it fits against the fuselage. The wing was marked along the rivet line of the inboard rib for drilling pilot holes for the screws and nutplates to attach the fairing. The pilot holes were drilled between every other rivet pair.
