Brief Description: Installed Bolt in Elevator/HS Bearing
During Dave Ross' TC visit, he noticed that a bolt was not installed in the empennage. This bolt goes thru the top of the elevator horns and the HS center bearing. Several washers were needed to be inserted between the horn and the bearing. This installation took a long time and involved dropping the washers into the bottom of the fuselage many times. Washers were picked up using a mirror and a long magnet. An AN5702-95-30 large diameter washer was inserted on the right side of the bearing. The bearing was flush against the elevator horn on the left side, so no other washer was needed. Two additional AN960-416 washers were needed on the right side to fill the space. They were Superglued together and inserted onto the bolt. The bolt was tightened and torqued.
