Walt Halloran painted the five major empennage components: horizontal and vertical stabilizer, rudder and both elevators. He first used a Scotchbrite pad to go over everything and then washed the metal with a cleaner. After drying, the pieces were acid-etched and then alodyned. The pieces were then painted with paint colored Toyota Super White. After the pieces dried, Walt clear-coated each piece.
The pieces still need to be sanded and then the design will be laid out.
