Brief Description: Painted Skins/Readied Firewall for Heat Valve
I received the stainless steel hardware from General Aviation Hardware. I painted the front part of the aft top skin and the aft part of the instrument panel top skin with the Rustoleum spray paint. I drilled and riveted a K1000-3 nutplate to one side of the heater valve. I riveted a doubler to the cabin side of the firewall for the heater valve bolt. I changed out the bolts on the components on the firewall to stainless steel hardware.
I positioned and either clamped or taped instrument panel components to the instrument subpanel and ribs. I also clamped the LightSpeed box on subpanel. I found that there is only one plug for a cooling fan. I was planning on installing two fans.
Update 10/29/09---I talked w/Isaac-Aerotronics re another connector for a cooling fan. He will make a 15'' long splitter to connect into the connector.
