Brief Description:  Worked on the length of the F-690 Control Rod

I clamped the elevators into the neutral position and measured the length of the forward control rod. After rereading Justice's notes and drawing #40, I determined that the neutral position of the control stick is when the center leg of the stick is vertical. By positioning the stick vertical, I found that the control rod needed to be shortened by about an inch, even though the length was at the prescribed length. I cut off 1/2'' of the rod and remeasured. I needed to cut off another 1/2'', which I did. The final length was 46 1/2''. I pop-riveted the threaded end to the rod, but was short two rivets. I left a message with Joe Walker asking for a few.

Ran the manual trim cable thru the fuselage to see how it fits.
