6.0 12/22/08-Reamed the two top bolt holes in the HS forward spar and the F-691 to 3/16'' size. Drilled the final hole in the VS by using Emmett's suggestion and his wood bushing he made up. He drilled a center hole in the bushing for a punch to mark the center of the hole in the tailwheel bracket. I then drilled the hole up to size with a 1/4'' bit. I attached the rudder and adjusted the rod-end bearings to be the proper length. The elevators were then attached. No problems were noted with any of the control surfaces. This is the first time the entire empenage has been together!
I riveted almost all of the right canopy deck to the fuselage. I used LP4-3 pop-rivets in two holes where I had no access to the underside.
