"Big visual progress this evening. I marked the centerlines on the forward facing spar flanges, and put the tank skin on the skeleton, and test fit it to the wing. It really fit perfect. I was pleased with the gaps all the way around. There will be some trimming on the bottom, but I just butted up the tank skin to the single piece top skin on the top side for a good fit (per the instructions). By the way, I am REALLY starting to see how much neater the single piece top skin looks. WAY worth it.
I also drilled the tank skin to the W-423 splice plate from the lower corner to the nose. The fit is very good, with no gap. More importantly, the tank skin matches the leading edge skin all the way around. I am quite satisfied with this.
