Brief Description:  RH Aileron, RH Flap, Left wing bellcrank

Today was a smorgasboard of activity. I worked on several things. I deburred and dimpled the RH aileron spar, rear skin, and forward skin. I then temporarily re-installed the nose skin, because I had forgotten to drill the nose skin to the counterbalance rod before I took it apart the last time, I will finish the RH aileron when I have some more parts to prime, as the nose skin needs primed.
I then shifted gears, and started working on the RH flap. When I made my last big parts order, I did not order enough interior flab ribs, so I am short two. Place an order for them, and W-417 push-pull tube rod ends today. Unfortuantely, that wasn't my only problem today. While tapering the inboard edge of the spar for the flap, I trimmed the wrong end. I followed the plans, without remembering to 'mirror image' them for the RH flap. So, I have 2 left hand flap spars. :) DOH!
I put my flap parts back in the crate, and went on to messing with the wings. I started fabricating the W-416 push-pull tube that goes from the bellcrank to the aileron. I had been warned that it was a difficult task to drill the rivet holes that attach the threaded rod end to the powder coated steel tube. I used my drill press, and its vise, to keep the materials square, and had no issues. I cut the tube a little bit long, so only built up one end, until I know the exact length. I installed the bellcrank in the left wing. The plans showed the neutral position, so I used clamps to hold it neutral, while I drilled a #40 hole through the angles, and bellcrank. I took two old, dull, 6" 40 bits, and cut the threads off leaving just the shank. I drilled a hole in the end of them and attached a remove before flight flag. Made a GREAT set of rig pins. I will use these to hold the bellcrank neutral while I rig the ailerons later. I finished the day by getting stuff together to mark centerlines on all the wing ribs, and to finish assembling the RH wing, as much of it is still clecoed together.
