Brief Description:  Stick placement mistake avoided

OK wake up! You are building a Long-EZ and you have bought sticks from the Cozy Girrrls for a LE BASED on the Cozy. Good news as its an improved design. Bad news if you put your sticks where the LE plans say. You will be scraping your knuckles on the fuselage side.

I spent a few days collecting my parts for this chapter. Yep.... look at pic 1. This shows the Long-EZ and Cozy plans together. I also found I was missing a couple of things which I have since ordered. Another decision was completely removable side consoles. I don't believe these add any significant or required strength. Smarter people, actual engineers have stated the same thing.

Back to the stick thing....So this means that the control sticks CS103 and CS119 need to be displaced to the left by the diameter of the CS105 tube. This is what I have done in pic 2 and you can see them cut out and cleaned up a bit in Pic 3. I made the front stick CS109 piece a bit longer too as I have an indentation that would have reduced the gluing area. You'll see in the next log entry. CS118 is plans, apart from the moved hole.

I'm also using the Igus bearings so the location holes for those are moved too. I again made these bearings a press fit to stabalise their location.
