The first pic shows the glue appled sparingly, I might have gone a little closer to the edges perhaps. This type of glue expands as it cures and seems to get to the edges OK. If you place it there and thickly...its a lot of clean up later.
The next two pics show left and right sides and I seemed to have clamped them differently...it was on different days and just as thats how it worked out at the time. There are lots of ways of doing the same job. The last pic used more of the waste foam to hold things together and a bit of packing tape helped move them as one unit too while I was setting up the clamps.
