Brief Description:  Slot Positioning

Now the 45 degree angle slot is in place a more correct position can be made.

I used the landing brake in its depression with the hinge AND allowing for a buildup over LB23 to determine where the back of this slot should be. It needed to be about .1" or so forward.

Given the rear of the slot gets opened up and sloped all the way down to the floor for a glass to glass bond the important part of the slot is the forward edge in the right place.

Having the brake in place I just eased the slot back with my permagrit files until it looked very very close to a final position. The brake itself can go a millimeter or two in either direction and still be a perfect fit to the fuselage bottom. It seems easier to make this slot now than afer the bottom is glassed.

The last shot shows marking where the fuselage will get another joggle routed out where the brake inside layup will join the bottom fuselage layup with a one inch overlap.

This whole thing is like thinking and building in reverse.
