Brief Description:  Glass the inside of the brake

Three plys of BID are used on the inside. I did my best to have the bias in the right directuion per the Cozy layup.

I used a little peel ply and a stick to keep things tidy on the hinge. Its really held on with bolts here anyway so its more about trying to keep the standard up rather than strength..

After cured I've trimed the edges but will probably make the brake nearer plans size later.

As it turned out I had quite a bit of air in the layup which was disappointing. However it is well within the specs layed down by Rutan. The white patches in the pic are micro fill of a few divits but there was air I only saw after cure. After showing it to a more experienced builder who thought it was not a problem I decided not to strip it and have just injected pure epoxy in a few places. Its very strong, just not the standard I want after nearly a year of building.

I'm looking into vacumm bagging as a way to improve quality and get a decrease in part weigh at the same time. Many parts will still be hand layups but I do see advantages with things like the wings and canard being as perfect as possible giiven I'll have CNC'ed cores.
