I wanted to make sure I had a easy method to remove and replace the fuel tank float sender in service, which will be more difficult when the tank is installed in the wing (trying to feed everything together with wire didn't work). I made up two threaded rods by cutting the heads off of 3 inch long 10-24 screws. I sanded down the threads of the screws on the shaft, except for the very end where it screws into the retaining ring. This is so it will pass through the rubber gasket and align easly with the retainer ring in the tank. Then the sender installation was very easy.
