Final fabrication and drilling of F-684 gussets. Lots of careful measuring and compromising to achieve good edge distance on all holes. Would have been better to hand fabricate a custom part from scratch with longer sides, etc. This part just barely fit in all axes. The issue appears to be that the side along the firewall needs to be about 1/4" wider and that would give you more edge distance to work with overall.
Working ahead a bit and mounted and drilled the F-7114 gusset (anchors the F-704 bulkhead to the F7101 gear web area. Drilled to #40 for now and had the same fitment issues that other builders complained about. One side was perfect (right) and the other side (left) required some slight filing to elongate the wing bolt holes and some filing of the side to accomodate and move the part "outboard) a little. Van's apparently provides this advice to builders and there is no other way to do it.
