Brief Description:  Oil leaks

Safety wired carburetor drains and gascolator bowl.

Checked all cylinder base nuts for proper torque, except for the four bottom inside nuts that cannot be easily accessed. Checked those four with open-end wrench. Only one or two nuts had any take-up at all.

Observed oil around the bottom of cylinder 1, unsure of source. Observed quite a bit of oil under generator, retightened mounting nuts. Cleaned engine thoroughly with mineral spirits and dried with compressed air.

Next step in oil leak search is to carefully inspect engine once again for dry exterior, make a short engine run and then inspect for immediate leaks and static leaks.
