Brief Description:  Fuel tanks, AirTex re-order.

In an attempt to get a better ADS-B PAPR I updated settings in TailBeacon to 50 kts stall speed, and bumped threshold from 35 to 38, per uAvionix website.

Attempted once again to locate continuing oil leak. Felt some oil under #1 cylinder, possibly from pushrod tube.

Called AirTex about the issue that they sent window treatments for a 140 instead of a 120, and also that the corrugations run in the wrong direction on the door frame covers, preventing bending around the corner. They acknowledged the errors on their part. They informed me that the color of our panels has been discontinued. Accordingly, they will be sending us a complete replacement of all those parts in the new (similar but different) color.

Removed the right quickdrain. Initial gush of fuel was very dirty – observed as it ran up my arm. Drained remaining fuel through strainer funnel. A lot of debris came out including bugs etc. See photo. This indicates that both tanks have a lot of foreign material in them that is larger than what will come through a quickdrain, and the tanks and the whole fuel system needs to be flushed before further flight. Went to ACE and bought a small pump-up sprayer and attempted to buy a fitting for the quickdrain hole to allow connection of a tube. Found out the quickdrain is not an NPT thread, as the early 120’s were originally equipped with. It is instead a non-NPT thread used on later 120’s and the 150 line. I guess the tanks were changed out somewhere over the years. Anyway, the quickdrains that are installed are CAV-170’s. Spruce has them, and they also have the O-rings for them, should they need to be replaced. Today I will attempt to flush the tanks.

Purchased aluminum angle and flat stock for fabricating new aft headliner support.
