Brief Description:  Oil pressure gauge, relief valve, shelf and tunnel

Finished lapping oil pressure relief valve. In order to get a straight-on lap I wrapped the plunger and old spring with electrical tape to hold it centered in housing. Cleaned and reassembled relief valve.

Jean assisted me with installing the new oil pressure gauge. While under panel I tightened the intercom connector screws. Could not do a test run due to new blacktop in front of hangar door.

Jeanne and I discussed the situation of the new interior not fitting with the shelf, and the shelf preventing in-flight access to the baggage area and the new pockets on the Airtex seatback. We decided to remove the shelf with the possibility of adding something smaller in the future. After Jeanne left, I removed the shelf, exposing the cross-brace piece where the new headliner will be attached. In the IPC this is referred to as “Channel Assembly – Upholstery Support – 0411683”. It appears that the presently installed part is not of the original design and will not work well to attach the headliner fabric. I will probably fabricate a new cross-brace and a covering strip to secure the fabric when we install the new headliner. I will also fabricate a new mounting bracket to be used to mount the ELT.

Test installed the tunnel cover and temporarily secured with the four 6-32 screws into the nutplates in the gear box bulkhead. Located and marked the old floorboards to determine where to drill holes for securing the cover to the floorboards.
