Brief Description:  Tach, transponder, starter.

Confirmed KT76 and KT76A are not tray compatible. Returned unit to Chris.

Removed old tach cable, measured for new, added order to Sandy’s sheet.

Ordered winterization kit from Wag-Aero.

Tweaked voltage regulator up ¼ turn. In flight that put it over 14 volts, too high. After flight turned it down 1/8 turn.

Bill brought me the KT76A from the green 195. I installed it and test flew. Still no reply light and not seen by Approach.

At startup for the test flight the starter made a terrible noise. On second attempt started normally. Sounds like either something is slipping inside the starter or worse, the drive gear is not fully engaging. Did the same thing yesterday.

Checked transponder antenna. At first it indicated a short from center conductor to ground. Took apart all cable connections and tested individually. Either the short cleared itself or the meter was giving a wrong initial indication. Reassembled.

Plans for tomorrow, and decisions to be made:
Check wiring to KT76A to be sure I wired it up correctly.
If wiring bad, re-wire.
If wiring OK ???????
Replace antenna wire (coax).?
Replace antenna?
Remove starter from plane, disassemble, look for damage.
Order new starter. I have had it with old parts.
