The SAF-AIR Oil Drain Valve, P5000 arrived so it was time to get rid of the preservative lubricant, install the quick drain valve, add mineral oil, and rotate the propeller a bit to get the fresh oil circulated somewhat within the engine.
Since the panel has not yet been "fired-up", hand turning the propeller was for now a passive option; an easy task with all four of the bottom spark plugs removed. After chatting with Lycoming's technical support & fellow builder Fred W.; the mineral oil will later be fully circulated throughout the engine with the aid of the starter. This will obviously happen prior to my official first start – hopefully in February.
