Welcome to my experimental aircraft web site. This site will chronical the construction of a kit-built Vans Aircraft RV-8. I hope my friends and any fellow RV builders who come to this site enjoy it.
Specs:
The RV-8 is a 2 seat all metal (riveted) kit aircraft. The airplane is an excellent all around performer, capable of aerobatics, short field takeoffs/landing, or extended cross-country flying at 200 mph in IFR conditions. As of this writing there are over 6000 RVs (of differing models) flying. It is very reliable and fairly straight forward to build for a high performance aircraft. Also there is an excellent "support group" of folks that have built, or are building, an RV. As a footnote, there are more RVs flying than there are Cessna Citations (all models).
Start Date: 10/05/06
Time in hours: 1250 hrs (not including research, etc)
Current in progress Sub-kit: finishing kit (started 06.01.09)
Fuselage - 85% (wing fitting/misc wiring & plumbing/misc items to go)
Empennage - 95% (fiberglass to go)
Wings - 95% (fiberglass to go)
