Brief Description:  Aileron Push Rods

Yesterday I made the push rods that connect the aileron to the bell crank inside the wing. Today I made the push rods that connect the bellcrank inside the wings to the bellcrank inside the fuselage (that the control stick connects to).

Started by measuring and cutting the 2 pieces of aluminum tube that make up the push rods. Polished up the ends and mixed up some primer, sealed one end of the tubes, poured it in, swished it around and drained the tube and let them dry. The plans call for 6 evenly spaced holes to be drilled through the tube ends and the sleeve nuts that fit in the tube ends. I took a piece of paper, wrapped it around the diameter of the tube, measured it, divided by 6 and made a mark for each of the holes (picture 1). Drilled and deburred the holes (picture 2) and then put blind rivets in each hole. I then measured the required length of each rod end bearing and tightened the locking nut.

Next I started putting together the the parts for the aileron attach points. No pictures of them but I'll probably have some tomorrow when I pick it up from there.
