Welcome to my experimental aircraft Web site. I decided to build the Van's RV-7. It's a two-seater, side by side airplane with a top speed of 210 mph and capable of aerobatics. Other builder's say they can pull back power at cruise to around 160 mph and get a fuel burn of around 7 gallons per hour, which yields about 23 miles per gallon. That's better mileage than my truck and should be a lot more fun. The build is estimated to take about 1,500 hours. I'm hoping it will be ready to fly in about 2 years.
