Brief Description: Mag Start Switch
|
|
After installing the P leads, Shields, and Dynon RPM leads I'm confused about something. Before wiring the keyed starter switch, I used my ohm meter to check it's functions. The connections are either open (not electrically connected together) or closed (connected together). With switch off, Grd to R or to L P-lead is closed. Move switch to L, the Grd-to-L P-lead is open (Left mag is not grounded so therefore is hot). Switch to R, the Grd-to-Right P-lead is open. Switch to Both and L and R P-leads are open(hot). With a jumper on the R P-lead to R grd, that connection to Grd is closed when switch is turned to the Start position. Thats all perfect. So after connecting all the leads to the switch, no matter where I check, everything is closed (connected and therefore not hot. e.g. grounded). Everything, no matter what combination of the possibilites I mentioned above are tested, they all show grounded. I'm so confused. Each P-lead and shield wire was removed and checked for open or closed issues on the wire itself. Each was perfect by itself. I'll research it.
