Brief Description:  Make Removable Side Covers

Bottom line is I installed 34 nut plates to make both side covers on each side removable. Took way too long. Sounds simple. Here's what is involved. 34 #40 pilot holes. 34 #30 enlarged holes to clecoe nut plate through so I can drill all the rivet holes using nut plates as templates. 68 #40 rivet holes. Debur all holes. Enlarge all #30 to #19 for 8/32 machine screws. Some holes required angle drill with appropriate drill sizes. Hand countersink all rivet holes for OOPs rivets. Choose correct nut plates for some tight spaces. Put rear baggage wall on several times to backdrill screw access holes. Test fit all loose covers over and over. Rivet using rivet gun and small bucking bar for tight locations. Use hand squeezer for nut plates attached to cover bottoms. (They locate under the floor therefore require the nutplates. Put everything back together again for testing when complete. So my wife asks what I accomplished today. I told her I installed 34 nutplates. Thats all? she asks. I say, "Yep. It was too hot to stay in the garage all day......."
