Be especially careful with the dremel and with the medium file. You don't want to catch an edge and create a nick. That will only require you to file deeper along a longer stretch to make that nick disappear. I only had to do that once. Filing is sort of an art. A medium file in one direction will reduce the work nicely as long as you are running it lengthwise along the work at a very shallow angle. The fine file dresses it up nicely and the scotchbrite gray finishes it up. I have not decided if I am only prosealing or adding some rivets and a doubler strip.
