Brief Description:  Long Bolts and Return Springs

Put the rudder/brake pedals back on the workbench to drill and ream the rear bolt attach points on each side of each pedal so I can install one long AN3-56 behind each pedal rather than two individual short bolts (one on each side of each pedal). There is discussion that having two short bolts on each pedal can cause out of alignment pressures when using the brake pedals. That causes them not to return to their normal off postion and therefore causes unwanted braking action. Having one long bolt drilled and reamed in the same plane permits the pedal to always move in one smooth motion. So it will be. $11 bucks each for the bolts. I also cut long spacers from 058" tube that fits between the mounting angles on each pedal, and the AN3-56 bolt rides inside it as it crosses the pedal opening. Think of it as a large spacer. It prevents any out of alignment pressure to be exerted on the mounting tabs of each pedal because it holds everything steady and solid.
Took all the brakes apart, reamed all the mounting holes for the long bolts, trimmed the angles, added the 3 part return spring assembly to each brake cylinder ( Nylon bushing at the bottom, compression spring and a bushing with a set screw to hold some tension on the spring at all times. Cleaned up all the paintable parts and added them to the priming box.
