Brief Description: JD Air Canopy Latch and attaching hardware.
The JD Air canopy latch is a takeoff from the original latching mechanism. Its larger, stronger, and just looks cool. I looked for and could only find two of the siz parts that connect this latching mechanism to the WD617 canopy latch weldment. I found the bearing CM4, the tubing that needed drilling and tapping and a 4130 steel strap that you cut two pieces from and use. I cannot find the C605 or the pair of (former C623) now WS411PP steel angles to attach to the C605 and to the bulkhead F605. Oh well. Another Vans Aircraft order completed tonight. I also took the ignition key to a locksmith and they made a door lock to match so I can install that below this canopy latch mechanism too, and only require one key for both.

Push the forward button and the locking lever can be opened outward to unlock canopy.
