Brief Description:  Prepare PCU5000X Governor 2

Received genuine Lycoming studs. Price shock.... Proper studs were part number 31C-16, 2.0 inches long at a mere $10.58 each from Aircrafty Specialty Services, in Tulsa OK. Lubed the rear stud threads with anti sieze, double nutted and wrenched them in place. I re-clocked the lever, found I could insert the bolt from the front, tighten and still have 2 1/2 threads showing without interference with the hold down machine screws. Yea!! Adjusted the cable linkages and mounted the unit. The gasket received a light coat of TiteSeal. Nice stuff. It still squeezed out a little when I torqued the nuts. All that remains is to resafety the machine screws that hold the governor lever tight in the resting position. No problem. However, it would have been easier to do if I safety tied them before mounting. Then again, it would have been easier if I did all this work before mounting the engine. My next airplane will go so much easier......
