Manual Reference:  Air Intake Plenum
Brief Description:  Install Horizontal Air Intake Plenum

Left intake ramp will have a large opening for the horizontal intake air plenum/KN air filter. So, I first fitted the ramp, only trimming the forward metal enough to allow the lower cowl to be mounted for sizing. Before that, I fitted, trimmed and installed the horizontal air intake plenum. Removed obstruction at the alternator bracket by heating the plenum area with heat gun and used bucking bar to press the softened glass enough to clear. Hold that depression until glass cools and hardens. I'll put some micro on that area to reinforce. Clamped the plenum to the RSA5 servo and started marking the high sides at the intake baffle ramp that touched first. Measured down 3/8 inch and started making narrow trims, reposition, re mark, re trim, etc until the plenum was more or less evenly gapped at 3/8 inch under the baffle ramp. Then I put the filter in the plenum and marked its outer dimension on the underside of the baffle ramp. Made that cut, and then fitted the aluminum mounting brackets (previously cut and fitted to inside of the plenum) in place and marked their location on the bottom of the intake ramp. Pictures later after I remove the lower cowl again.
