Brief Description:  Prepare PCU5000X Governor

Time to install the PCU5000X prop governor. I had previously removed the original Hartzel governor. It was a boat anchor, mounted the wrong way for my setup and wouldn't fit. Van's bracket needed minor hole enlongation to fit. Started by screwing the furthest hole in place and saw where I would slightly elongate the middle hole, and a little more than that on the remaining hole. Overall, filing with a small round file took care of it. That was the only alteration required. I removed .025 safety wire on the 6 clamping screws, reclocked the arm and installed the bracket. I won't safety wire again until I get it final fitted, which might require clocking the arm a little more. You can see in photo one the governor arrived clocked to what they call 180 degrees. I increased the clocking to 280 degrees. Instructions say there should be at least 1.25 inches of stud showing on the accy case. I only have 1.0 inch. Guess I'll research that. Seems I misplaced the CW-3M bearing. Ordered new one plus other stuff from VAN's. The bearing mounting bolt will not go straight into the lever and I'll research how to overcome that interference issue.

Top right hole perfect. Middle hole very slight elongation. Bottom hole needs most filing.
