Brief Description:  Remove Moisture from Dessicant

It was time to remove existing moisture capture from the dessicant plugs in the IO-360. Its in storage in my garage on an engine stand. I fabricated some mounting tubes to hold the engine and overfilled it with oil, plus sprayed the inside cylinders, sealed all openings and then I rotate it 360 on the engine stand once per month to keep everything coated. The plug dessicant was pink, indicating time to remove the moisture in them. I removed, disassembled and emptied the dessicant into a working bowl. Some oil had accumulated in the dessicant so I washed them is a small amount of acetone. Paper towel absorbed the most of the acetone. I still was a little hesitant to microwave them, especially in the ''kitchen'' microwave. Took an old microwave I had removed from my boat out of storage and used it. Put the dessicant balls in a couple of ceramic bowls and microwaved them 3 minutes. The bowls were ''hot'' so be careful handling. Scooped each vial back full, sealed them and reinstalled nice dark blue dessicant into the upper spark plug openings.
Done.
