Manual Reference:  Marking the ribs
Brief Description:  I am bouncing around too much.

I have already made and leveled the wing jig and the spar has been sitting there where I water-tube leveled it. That is pretty easy and cool to use the water level. I will plan on using the tubing for other pressure testing purposes on the fuel tank when I get to it.
All the ribs had to be identified and marked for drilling. It was easy to get confused with the plans being still sort of greek to me. However, I am getting better at looking through several plan sheets to see how things interconnect later. It already made me realize some of the rib connect holes to the rear spar are different on ribs 1 and 2 than the other 12. I made two templates with holes drilled at specific locations. The rib-to-rear-spar connection gets 4 holes, 1st one is 0.25 inches from botton of rib (that would be the side of the rib that has an indent for the rear spar flange to nestle into. Then one inch apart for the next 3 holes. Marked all the ribs with that template. For the ribs that get an angle riveted to them and that same angle gets bolted through the spar as well I used the longer template, I still needed to have 0.25 inch end clearance on the rib flange for 1st hole and then 4 more holes at 1 inch apart. The angle also rivets to the web of each rib at the main spar to strengthen the whole assembly. So, it took 13 angles with a lot of holes in them, and even some bigger holes on one side of the some of the angles where soon I will be pop riveting the main ribs to the spar. Those big holes in the angle allow the pop rivet some headroom when inserting it into the spar from below. After a couple hours it became more clear. Still easy to get lost in the detail until you stay with it over and over.
