Brief Description:  Make Aileron Control Tubes

In the past, I had primed and installed one fitting into each aileron control tube which connects the control stick to the aileron bellcrank in the wing. Plans call for an approximate tube length of 58 3/4 inches. I slid each tube into both wings, connected them to the bellcrank, set the ailerons at 0 deflection (based on a previously drilled #30 hole through 3 pieces of the bellcrank, signifying perfect level ailerons. Then I held the control stick 90 degrees to the tube and marked each tube exactly where the Control Stick connection bolt hole passed over the tube. Determine how long the end cone plus fully screwed in bearing is. Subtract that from the mark on the tube and that is the cut line. One tube was 58 3/4 and one tube was 58 1/2. Sounds harder than it was.
