Brief Description:  Fit Cowling 5

Did I say how much I dislike fiberglass? Anyways, I had numerous on/offs with duct tape fitting the two cowling halves together. Then after nearly final edge trimming, and riveting on all the lower skybolt fastener plates to the firewall, clecoing the upper plates to the firewall/top skin, I then installed all the Skybolts, adjusted them, ordered one missing fastener, and cleaned all the duct tape adhesive off the cowling. The fit changed slightly and I believe its because the skybolt holes in the cowl are a little larger than the fastener that goes in those holes, allowing subtle movement which I was not paying attention to as I adjusted the depths of the 33 fasteners. Its only off by about 1/8 on the pilot side lower corner. I think I can loosen the fasteners and start again applying a little pressure in that lower corner. I am very happy with the overall fit. It looks very good even though I need to sand down the forward pilot side corner to lower top cowl about 1/8 inch. No problem.
