Brief Description:  Gear Weldments positioned and drilled

Lots of drilling today. Used a NAPA 3/16 brake line (1/8 inch inside diameter) 8 inches long. Cut off the 2 flared ends, buffed off the outside primer, cut into 2 inch lengths and they made perfect drill bushings to start all the through-the-spar holes #30. Then went to the front of the weldments and back drilled 3/16 until just into the spar hole. Some of the holes need to enlarge to 1/4 inch and the clearance is too tight for that big of a bit so when I remove the wings, I will bolt the weldments with the 3/16 holes, and enlarge the necessary ones to 1/4. I can hand enlarge the F604 bulkhead holes with a hand reamer or my angle drill. We'll see. Taking time to make sure the forward braces get the holes in the correct location. The quickbuild fuselage had one rivet mistakenly set where the brace goes and that hole is too close to the edge of the brace. Those get drilled D drillbit and countersunk for AN509 flush bolts. The copilot side will need a shim on the forward brace to fill the gap rather than putting it in tension.
Darn rain chased me inside again. Thank goodness for tarps..
