Brief Description:  Riveting the HS707 rib and a rivet fix.

Today ended up a day of fixing things it seems. This time when riveting in the HS-707 nose rib I ended up with the usual screwed up rivet or two that needed to come out. One of then didn't come out very nicely, so the hole in the rib was enlarged slightly to the point that the cleko wouldn't grasp. Again, a bit of internet reseach and I came up with a fix that seemed common and acceptible. I had some scrap stiffeners that I dimpled, deburred, cut, grinded, and primed for a nice tidy back plate. I taped it in to hold it in place then riveted. Works great! I just hope I don't have to do too many of these, but it's a good fit. I did use the next size up rivet too -3.5 is normal for this area, but put in a -4 for a good fit.
I did see in the photo there appears to be a bit of space on that front nose flange. I had the whole thing clekoed to the spar after I did this fix. It bugged me all night and the next day I went down to take it apart and examine it again. The photo makes it look huge, but there was decent "lack of gap" on that part when I checked closer. So figured it was good to go. Just showed up worse with the iPhone flash photo somehow.
