Brief Description:  Prep for paint interior fuselage

I started the taping process on the interior of the fuselage for primer and paint. I will only be painting all upper areas above the floor. taped off all areas on the stainless steel firewall, will only be painting the braces. Next step was to use Sherwin Williams pre wash solvent before scotch brite all interior areas. This being a quick build fuselage, where P60-G2 wash primer was used, better to mechanically etch the surface before priming. The P60-G2 wash primer has a window of only so many hours to be top coated. I also, know of other builders not mechanically etching and the primer not sticking or the top coat not bonding as well. With this information and with talking with a Sherwin Williams Aerospace coatings rep, it was suggested to mechanically etch before priming. There recomendations were to also use a polyurethane primer. Soooo, thats the plan. Polyurethane primer and polyurethane top coat. Top coat is Sherwin Williams Jet Flex polyurethane in a satin finish.
