Brief Description: Located and Drilled Skin Rivet Holes
Started day in the shop by moving vice to bench in front of garage; sturdier mount and not in the way of power miter cuts. Made a shelf - attached the cabinets above my power miter - for my small-parts bin. This frees up space on the front work bench where it was sitting.
Marked the elevator skin bend lines (defined on 10/27) on the inside of skin.
Measured and marked the rib rivet lines on the outside of the skin using the right edge as my datum. I decided to pre-punch as many holes as possible before bending the skin so I calculated the distances - from the top flange - of the rivet hole locations for the rear web (2 holes), bottom surface (8 holes) and first hole on the top surface. The 40mm pitch worked out perfectly on the bottom. The top will depend on where the hinge rivet line falls after the skin is wrapped around the ribs and trimmed along the trailing edge.
