Have been a pilot since 1990 with approximately 350 hours in mostly Cessna's and Pipers. My story is very similar to other pilots who have been sidelined by the time and financial demands of an active life. I've been considering experimental aircraft for several years as an alternative way of making aircraft ownership a reality.

After several trips to Oshkosh and much research on the web I've decided to build a Zenith CH650 which is well suited for taller pilots, has a scratch-build option (my method) and multiple engine options. The recent structural upgrades to the wings and ailerons gives me further confidence that this is a good choice for my mission of leisure and adventure. It is important to be persistent in the build process while maintaining balance with family, work, rest and social time.

KitlogPro is proving to be an effective tool for logging and web-posting progress with the side benefit that other folks can follow along, possibly picking up a valuable tip or trick. Reading blogs of other builders has certainly provided me invaluable insight and encouragement. Imagine the challenge to those who ventured into amateur-built aircraft in the days before computers and the internet!

Please send me an email if you have any questions or comments.
