Brief Description:  Fixing the door strips. - Part 4.

To create the outer cover strips, I started with the drop off material from the cut I made at the top edge of the new strips. This piece had the correct arc, and I used a compass to offset it 9/16" and made another cut. Then I used the newly formed lower strip to transfer drill the holes.

I also fabricated new inner strips for the bottom of the window. I didn't document the process, but it was similar to what I have described. I used the newly fabricated outer strips to define the top edge and the hole pattern. Then I mounted the strips to the window, and with the strip on the outside of the door frame, I marked where the top of the frame crossmember contacted the strip and cut on this line to develop the bottom edge.

Despite the dates I put on this log, which keeps the posts in order, I spent two evenings to complete this work, but the parts I developed have a fit and finish that excels the factory parts - I was happy with the outcome.
