Brief Description:  Covering the Ailerons - Part 2.

I finished the covering the ailerons and installing the patches and tapes. Also, my lacing cord arrived so I competed the last two rib stitches and finished up the rudder.

* Somehow I ended up with more glue filled bubbles under the aileron trailing edges than I was happy with. I spent several hours with the hobby iron and got it smoothed out to a reasonable level. I found that when heat was applied some of the glue would seep through the fabric, and then the iron would just push it around. I got the best results by applying heat getting the glue to seep, then clean the seepage with acetone, and repeat.

* The stock 2" wide tape did not cover the rivets at the leading edges of the ailerons, so I purchased a roll of 3" wide tape for this area.

* Similar to the elevators, I used round patches over the rudder stitches instead of square.

I think I will cover the wings next and then the fuselage after that. This will leave the flaps and doors, which I think I can cover with scrap materials off the larger components.
