Brief Description: Epoxy primed the Ribs and spar angles
After much research and soul searching...
I settled on the Etching, Alodine, followed by a nice coat of epoxy primer.
The PPG product flowed very nicely and was easy to use.
I mixed up 4oz of primer / 2oz of catalyst / 1oz of reducer. The finish is like glass. I am very happy with the results and plan this process for the wing ribs.
The PPG data sheet says to apply 1 to 2 wet coats... I applied 1 coat and am happy with that. Build up is quick and I believe we have the corrosion protection we are looking for.
I used a HVLP paint gun set at 8-10 psi as stated on the PPG data sheet. worked great.
