Brief Description:  Auto Pilot Servo Calibration

12/20 and 12/21
The wiring and calibration steps are very user friendly...
I updated the firmware to version 5, detected the AP servos.
Ran the calibration steps sucessfully, so far so good...
Continued with the ground test and nothing happened? The servos should have moved the comtrol surfaces to pre-determine locations... but not even a chatter from the servos.
Checked the status in skyview, and raw data was being received from the servos when I moved the stick... but the servos were not responding to test commands. Check all the wiring about a dozen times. Talk to Dynon, unfortunately they were not very helpful, holidays I guess. I Isolated the servos and bypassed the VP-X to rule out a power issue per Dynon. They suggested RMAing the servos? huh? Both servo having the exact same issue? bought months apart, not likely.
I then removed the entire skyview system from the aircraft and put it on my test bench. Using the Dynon "Test" cables and my bench power supply... I detected and calibrated the servos successfully... But when I ran the "Test" servos did not respond... same as in the aircraft.
Well that pretty much ruled out the wiring, grounds, VP-X power etc. I got a few other experts involved, and we determined it is probably a firmware issue... version 5 has only been out for a week or so... it was suggested I put the servos at the bottom of my list and report the issue and see if it can be confirmed as a bug, since everything else is working great... I tested the pressure sensors, and monifold pressure... Everything is spot on...

I look at it this way... If nothing goes wrong, you never learn anything...
I am close to an expert at trouble-shooting the servos now...
