I first cleaned the shop... I had pieces of scrap aluminum all over the place from the stiffeners. I dis-assembled the right tank, labeled the parts and sorted through some hardware.
I will be installing flop tubes for fuel pick up.
I pulled the now scrap 3/8" tube and flared one end just to make sure my flaring tool was still working. I also learned many years ago a technique to straighten aluminum tubing. Instead of trying to get all the little imperfections out by hand, you can lay the tubing on a flat surface, place flat piece of, "plywood" in this case, over top, while apply pressure roll it (like a rolling pin) back forth. It only takes medium pressure and 10 or so rolls to straighten it right out as in the photo. Make sure not to apply too much down pressure. You don't want flat spots.
It works for me, and it makes your fuel and vents look professional.
