Brief Description: Primed and riveted VA-146 to HS-411
I received the new VA-146 from Van's today.
Helper #1 and I matched drilled the holes and primed the bearing web with some rattle can self-eching primer.
We squeezed 470AD4-5 as stated on the plans. I checked the shop heads for proper demensions as some builders stated they had trouble getting good results and going to a -6 rivet.
As it turns out the -5 worked fine and shop heads are the correct dememsions... but just barely. According to Van's documentation there will be times when the rivets will be at minimum demensions. They look good and are perfectly acceptable.
