I removed the airbox, and fabricated a 1/8" plywood template. I positioned the template, drilled and mounted to the carberator... Installed the airbox and determined the exact position that works the best for my application. Took a few attempts to get it right, but I managed.
I know a number of other builders that are having issues with the aluminum mounting plate cracking... I may fabricate a composite mounting plate to replace the aluminum plate. One of the local builders has done this, and it eliminated the fatique cracking issue he was having.
