Brief Description:  Canopy Work

Continued to lay up the front windshield, plans ask for about 80mil in thickness...
That would be approximately 3 credit cards in thickness. One layer at a time.
If I had it to do over, I would try installing a thin strip of aluminum for the overlap all the way across the upper windshield, then lay up the glass just to contour to the windshield.

The big effort was put into the aft canopy fairings, I have both sides fitted.
Fabricated a "Hole Duplicator" and match drilled fairings to the canopy frame...
De-burred and dimpled the fairings and cleco'd in place.

The only issue is...
I have about 1/4" gap on the bottom of both sides as in Photo #2. My solution is as pictured in Photo #3. Foam tapered wedge that fits the contour of the fuslage. Although I am not going to worry about 1/4" at this point. It will not keep the plane from flying. It is more cosmetic, and one of those little tweaks I can touch up at a later time. It bugs me though!!
